Well I finally decided to create a blog. I'm going to do my best to keep it updated and post as often as possible. I'm probably not the greatest writer and you will probably find loads of grammatical errors in this post alone but maybe this blog will make you think a little and spark some dialogue between you and me. That is my hope anyway.
I thought in my first post I should give an explanation to the name of my blog. I thought and thought about it and even did a little praying about what I should name my blog even before I left school for Christmas break. Finally I thought to look on my profile on Facebook to see if I put anything in my profile that would be good. The name A Christian on Foot comes from a quote that struck me in the book The Robe by Lloyd C Douglas.
"it might be interesting to watch this strange thing develop. If it could go on the way it seems to be going now, nothing could stop it. But it won't go on--not like that. It will come to grief, after a while--as soon as it gets into a strong position and is able to dictate terms. Then it will squabble over its offices and spoils, and grow heady with power and territory. The Christian afoot is a formidable fellow, but when he becomes prosperous enough to ride a horse--' Tiberius suddenly broke out in a startling guffaw. 'He! he! he! when he gets a horse! Ho! ho! ho! a Christian on horseback will be just like any other man on horseback! This Jesus army will have to travel on foot--if it expects to accomplish anything"
Emperor Tiberius says this. This is his evaluation of a strange cult following some dead criminal named Jesus. For centuries Christians have abandoned following this man Jesus humbly on foot to arrogantly riding above others on horseback. It is my goal to be a Christian on foot.

The Tiberius quote is powerful, Dan. We'll have to talk about ways we can walk afoot, when we get back to school.
I'm getting excited Daniel Coutz. How about you?
Eh... I could take another couple of weeks of break, but I'm looking forward to the week of 24/7 prayer. Plus you're gonna be the RA of Oakwood!!
